Project Overview:
The Lake McQueeney Boathouse is a durable waterfront structure designed for lakefront living, boat storage, lift access, and long-term use on Lake McQueeney. The project replaced an aging wood structure with a more permanent steel and concrete boathouse designed to better withstand the practical demands of life at the water’s edge.
The new work includes a concrete lower deck, boat lift, protected boat storage, and an upper viewing deck oriented toward the lake. Integrated lighting within the handrail and along the landscape path allows the structure to be used comfortably in the evening while keeping the overall design quiet and understated.
Set beneath mature cypress trees and connected by a stone walkway through the lakefront landscape, the boathouse balances utility, durability, and atmosphere. The design draws from the character of Lake McQueeney and the lower Guadalupe River while introducing a more refined architectural presence to the waterfront.
As a lakefront boathouse and outdoor living project, the work brings together steel structure, concrete construction, landscape integration, railing details, lighting, and practical waterfront access. The result is a carefully built place for storage, gathering, viewing, and everyday use on the water.
